Take one Nexium 24HR tablet a day, 30 to 60 minutes before anticipated heartburn, with a full glass of water, for 3 days. For acid reflux, Nexium 24HR may help to treat your discomfort. Remember to take your daily dose at the same time each day to maintain your safety.

Directions
Take one tablet a day, 30 to 60 minutes before heartburn to avoid delayed or severe acid loss.
The first 24 hours usually take between 30 minutes and 4 hours.
Do not exceed the daily dose.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. If it’s almost time for your next dose, skip the one you missed and the next-longer one will begin. Do not take more than one dose of Nexium 24HR a day.
To treat frequent heartburn, take Nexium 30 to 60 minutes before heartburn, with a full glass of water, for 3 days. Take your tablet at the same time each day to maintain your safety. (See the side effects section above.)
If you do not finish your course of Nexium, continue with it as soon as possible. If you miss a dose, skip the next one and the one ahead. If it is almost time for the next dose, or if you are about to have your next, course of Nexium is likely to be missed. Do not take your daily dose.
Do not give to a child under 3 months of age.

Indications

Side Effects
The common side effects are: stomach discomfort, nausea, vomiting, flatulence, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal pain, headache, back pain, muscular ache, pain in the back and flank pain, and the loss of appetite.
The following other side effects have been reported in patients treated with Nexium 24HR: headache, dyspepsia (indigestion), nausea, abdominal pain, constipation, dizziness, dyspepsia (nausea or vomiting), dry mouth, fatigue, loss of appetite, blurred vision, and sensitivity to light or light sources.
In order to avoid the occurrence of adverse effects, the patient should be advised not to smoke and not to take in any of the following: Nexium 24HR medicine contains a proton pump inhibitor which can increase the incidence of side effects.
Other stomach disorders may also occur with the use of this product. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any other stomach disorders, especially the following: heart disease, kidney disease, liver cirrhosis, seizures, diabetes, lupus, anorexia, ulceration of the stomach or intestines, bleeding from the stomach or bowel, infection of the stomach or intestine, perforation of the stomach or bowel, bleeding from the stomach or bowel, heart attack, stroke, and bleeding from the stomach or bowel. Patients with a known hypersensitivity (e.g., rheumatoid arthritis, gout, etc.) to proton pump inhibitors (omeprazole, lansoprazole, omeprazole, rabeprazole, etc.) or any of the excipients (diclofenac, benzhydroxy propionate, peppermint oil, etc.) should be treated with esomeprazole at the beginning of or during the treatment with proton pump inhibitors (omeprazole, rabeprazole, lansoprazole, omeprazole, pantoprazole). Do not use if you have ever had an allergic reaction to esomeprazole, lansoprazole, omeprazole, pantoprazole or any of the excipients.
